This winter edition consecrates its front cover, cartoon, and Editorial to a look back at the Triple Bottom Line and its 3 Ps of People, Planet, Profit. Popularised in 1997, to an extent revolutionary, what has this tool given those of us in business, management, leadership and education over the past years? How has it been used – and maybe abused? And how might it evolve into something new in the future?

Global Voice #28 is also 27 contributors from CoBS member schools plus guests, and 15 articles in 2 sections: Leadership & Management and Business, Society, Planet.

In the Leadership & Management section, academics and researchers from around the globe offer us insights into how CSR grows and gathers impact within firms, how Japanese firms approach responsible management in their Chinese subsidiaries, the key role of the Chief Marketing Officer in ensuring long-term budget and strategy, and how dating apps can teach us how to boost employee motivation. Finally, researchers dive into the dark side of people analytics to shine light on the risks behind the promises of using big data tools in firms.

Business, Society, Planet opens with a call to revamp research in business ethics by taking into account different regional cultures, then moves on to what makes wealthier folks decide on impact investing, how changes in society have impacted inheritance, and the necessity – and benefits – of intergenerational collaboration. Finally, a practitioner contribution focuses on rice and the complexity of supply chains, while an independent contributor shares the impact of climate change on child rights in Kenya.

Lots to keep you engaged, thinking, reading, and changing the world positively through the festivities and into the New Year!
