CoBS: The Magnificent 7!

The CoBS (Council on Business & Society) is delighted to welcome a new member – IE Business School. The global alliance now reaches 7.

The Council on Business & Society, dedicated to promoting its schools’ expertise in responsible leadership and sustainable business practices, is delighted to welcome a new member school to the alliance – IE Business School. This now brings the number of partners to seven:

ESSEC Business School, France, Asia-Pacific and Africa • FGV-EAESP, Brazil • School of Management, Fudan University, China • IE Business School, Spain • Keio Business School, Japan • Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland • Warwick Business School, United Kingdom. The partner schools share a commitment to and belief in the power of academic excellence, collaboration, innovation, and transformative leadership. Each is a recognised leader in management education and offers a wide range of business-related degrees and executive programmes.

IE’s membership is indeed very good news for the Council. It brings both cultural and geographical balance in terms of a southern European institution joining us, and world-class quality and reach in terms of rankings, teaching, students and research.

Dean Martin Boehm of IE Business School

Says Dean and Professor Martin Boehm, “IE Business School’s overall mission has been evolving in tandem with the strategy, purpose and mission of its programs, which are based on the same pillars of academic excellence, innovation and entrepreneurship, technology, social responsibility and internationalisation. At IE we firmly believe in the power of the entrepreneurial mindset to change the world for the better. We will keep encouraging students through the different Council on Business & Society’s initiatives to explore social innovation and entrepreneurial challenges with special emphasis on unconventional approaches to enduring social problems”.

As our good friends at IE Business School join us, the Council’s focus now turns to North America where we wish to complete the alliance and its meaningful purpose with a truly global presence.
