Work-life balance has become, if not a buzz-word, a hopeful wish for many executives for whom time is a commodity that is traded in the relentless tug-of-war between professional performance/recognition and private/family life. Casual Fridays and flexi-time are not the core of the question, states Marsh: if society is to make any progress on the issue, the first thing we need is an honest debate.
