The CoBS and the Social Impact of Academia: Contributing to the SDGs

As this Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainability Development Goals unfolds, this Copenhagen 2025 AOM workshop provides an occasion for reflecting on our collective contribution as scholars: new ways, new ideas, new inspirations, looking for meaningful connections among our research, our pedagogy and our citizenship.

This workshop is the natural continuation of a fruitful conversation began at Boston (2023), then at Chicago (2024), in two PDWs on the “Social Impact of Academia”, bringing together academics of the Council on Business & Society, a global alliance of 12 leading business schools on 6 continents dedicated to research and pedagogy in responsible leadership.

Join Profs. Concepción Galdón, IE Business School; Elspeth Murray, Smith School of Business; Armand Bam, Stellenbosch Business School; Mario Aquino Alves, FGV EAESP; Keikoh Ryu, Keio Business School; and Adrian Zicari, ESSEC Business School for an inspiring agenda of research presentations and roundtable discussions on what we can do to contribute to society, from our current roles of scholars and business school, program, and course leaders. The organizers will strive to gently challenge, propose, and motivate participants to think out of the box, and provide follow up for further discussions.
